2014-2015 Germany Aluminum Production

Germany is one of the leaders aluminum producers in Europe. However, aluminum producers and processors had to reduce their production in the first half of 2019, by 5.6% and 5.4%, respectively, while semi-finished product manufacturers were able to increase their production by 1.9%.

Between January and June 2019, approximately 629,200 tons of primary aluminum were produced in Germany. This production comprised 251,400 tons of primary aluminum and 377,800 tons of recycled aluminum.

Compared to the same period in the previous year, recycled aluminum production decreased by 5.2%, while primary aluminum production decreased by 6.3%. Meanwhile, semi-finished aluminum production increased by 1.9% to 1,275,400 tons.

Rolled products, extrusions, conductive materials, and wires are included in semi-finished products, which are used in automotive, construction, mechanical engineering, packaging, and other industries.
